Bozeman’s domestic violence shelter is the first social service organization in Montana to provide limited free legal services to immigrant survivors of violent crimes and human trafficking.

Haven became recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals, giving it authorization from the U.S. Department of Justice to help immigrant victims of domestic and sexual violence, stalking and human trafficking become documented.

Montana was previously the only state in the nation to not have a Board of Immigration Appeals-recognized organization, the Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports.
