DeArment, Tweeten appointed to Board of Environmental Review

Gov. Steve Bullock on Tuesday appointed seven members to the state Board of Environmental Review, including two attorneys.

John DeArment is the CEO of Garlinton, Lohn & Robinson in Missoula; he has a background in hydrology. Chris Tweeten operates a law practice in Missoula representing state and local governments. He is also a past president of the State Bar of Montana.

Other appointees are Dexter Busby, Great Falls; Christine Deveny, Helena; John Felton, Billings; Hillary Hanson, Kalispell; and Tim Warner, Bozeman.

The Board of Environmental Review was created by the Montana, which gave it specific duties under various environmental regulatory statutes. The board has authority over air quality, water quality, public water supply and public sewage systems, mined land reclamation, major facility siting, megalandfill siting, hazardous waste, solid waste, junk vehicles, underground storage tanks and radioactive materials.
