I am a solo practitioner with a general civil and mediation practice in Stevensville. I have been a lawyer for 29 years and a litigator for most of those years. I have learned one thing from my experience: Litigation is often an inefficient way of resolving disputes. Litigation is out of reach for the majority of Montanans, who cannot afford it. I have become a strong supporter of mediation.
While I’m an advocate for more mediation, I can see that litigation still has an important role in some kinds of disputes. I do not even necessarily suggest any more mandatory mediation than currently exists.
I want to be on the Board of Trustees so I can be a part of various Bar efforts to make mediation more accessible to Montanans.
I would appreciate your vote for the Board of Trustees, Area B.
