Member resolution proposals must be submitted by Aug. 7
Members may propose resolutions to be presented to the membership at the State Bar of Montana’s Annual Business Meeting in September in Helena.
Resolutions must be submitted to the Executive Director by Aug. 7, which is 45 days prior to this year’s Annual Business Meeting. Email to membership@montanabar.org with “Member Resolution” in the subject line.
Within 20 hours of the Annual Meeting, the bar’s Past Presidents Committee will review all member resolutions before they are presented to the membership, as required by the bar’s bylaws. The committee will examine proposed resolutions for scurrilous or defamatory material and ensure any proposed resolution is consistent with the bar’s constution and bylaws. Any member may attend the meeting, and reasonable notice of the meeting will be provided to members.
A summary of all resolutions shall be posted on the State Bar website (www.montanabar.org) 30 days in advance of the Annual Meeting and published in the last issue of the Montana Lawyer before the Annual Meeting.
