George L. Bousliman Professionalism Award
The award will recognize lawyers or law firms who have: 1 | Established a reputation for and a tradition of professionalism as defined by Dean Roscoe Pound: pursuit of a learned art as a common calling in the spirit of public service; and 2 | Within two years prior to the nomination, demonstrated extraordinary professionalism in at least one of the following ways: • Contributing time and resources to public service, public education, charitable or pro bono activities. • Encouraging respect for the law and our legal system, especially by making the legal system more accessible and responsive, resolving matters expeditiously and without unnecessary expense, and being courteous to the court, clients, opposing counsel, and other parties. • Maintaining and developing, and encouraging other lawyers to maintain and develop, their knowledge of the law and proficiency in their practice. • Subordinating business concerns to professional concerns.
