Montana has more isolated rural areas than most other states, and Montana’s attorneys cluster in its urban areas. For example, did you know that Montana’s 4th Judicial District has 185 residents per active attorney, while the 16th Judicial District has 4,908 residents per active attorney? The Rural Advocacy League and State Bar of Montana are collaborating to explore ways we can address unmet legal needs in rural areas. As part of this collaboration, this CLE will be an opportunity to learn from rural legal practitioners about the need for attorneys in rural areas, the challenges and benefits of rural practice, and skills and subject matter areas important to rural practice. Join us for an important conversation about improving access to justice across Montana.
