CLE webinar on 2019 estate planning legislation set for Dec. 11
Tuesday, November 19, 2019
The State Bar of Montana will offer a CLE webinar Dec. 11 about important estate planning legislation that came out of the 2019 Montana Legislature.
The Montana Legislature made important revisions to the state’s intestacy, elective share, and exempt property statues. Senate Bill 225 also changed important probate procedural provisions. Further, courts may now correct mistakes in a will and other governing instruments if necessary to implement the testator's intention. The bill included the adoption of the Uniform Disclaimer of Property Interests Act and the Uniform Real Property Transfer on Death Act.
Presenters are Ed Eck, of counsel with Church, Harris, Johnson and Williams and Professor Emeritus of the Alexander Blewett III School of Law, who co-chaired and chaired committees that resulted in adoption of the Montana Trust Code in 1989 and 2013; and Dirk A. Williams of Crowley Fleck, whose practice focuses on the trust & estates field, with a specific concentration on fiduciary guidance.
You can register for the webinar here; 1.0 CLE credit is pending.
