LOGIN HELP

Parts of this site are built especially for our members, so we want to ensure that only you are accessing your personal membership information. If you are a member of the State Bar of Montana you can log in by entering your username and password. Usernames and passwords are case sensitive so be sure to use capital letters when needed. (see Common Troubleshooting below for other login help).
NOTE: Both member and section dues can be paid online.

Your username is the first and last name you are registered by with the State Bar with no space in between. You must capitalize the first letter of your first and last name. Example: JohnDoe 
If you are paying annual dues click on the "renew" link under your name.


By default your initial password is the captial letters of your first and last name, and for most members, the number 20 and your license/member number. Example: JD201234 (for JohnDoe)

However, if you were admitted between May 19, 2009 and October 5, 2009 you will use 21 in front of your license/member number. If you were admitted after October 5, 2009 you will use a 2 in front of your license/member number.

Once you're logged in, you can personalize the password by clicking on the "change password" link.
*All default passwords contain 6 numbers so if you have a 2 or 3 digit license/member number you will need to add an extra zero(s). For example, if your license/member number is 567 you would add an extra zero after the number 20. (200567)


If you have forgotten your password, you can have the system look it up by clicking on the "Forgot your Password?" link. Your password will be sent to the email address we have on file for you. If your member record does not include an email address or it is outdated you will need to contact the State Bar at (406) 442-7660. For problems logging in please send a message here or call (406) 442-7660.

 

Common Troubleshooting:

  • Refresh the page (F5 key)
  • Clear your cache
  • Exit out of website and come back in
  • Double-check username and password (see above for format)
  • Try a different web browser
  • Make sure number lock key is on
  • Did you change your password from the default? For security reasons the State Bar is unable to see passwords that have been changed. You will need to click the "Forgot Password" link or contact the State Bar to have it reset.
