The State Bar operates a variety of programs for the public. From our court-created programs, such as the Lawyers Fund for Client Protection and our Fee Arbitration Program, to civic activities like our Citizens' Law School and High School Mock Trial programs, Montana lawyers maintain their commitment to the public through the State Bar.
The State Bar also provides a lawyer referral service, Licensed Lawyer Montana, which is available free of charge to the public. However, the State Bar does not recommend specific attorneys or make general referrals outside of this service; only attorneys who opt to include their information in Licensed Lawyer and maintain malpractice insurance are part of the program.
