The State Bar of Montana was created in 1974 by order of the Montana Supreme Court and comprises over 4,000 attorneys who maintain an active license to practice law in Montana. We are governed by 16 trustees, elected by region, and four officers who are elected on a statewide basis. The State Bar receives no state-appropriated funding.
