Do not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive or illegal materials. - The State Bar of Montana does not actively monitor the site for inappropriate postings, and does not, on its own, undertake editorial control of postings. However, in the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to the State Bar of Montana's attention, the Bar will take all appropriate action.
- The State Bar of Montana reserves the right to terminate access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines. In addition to the above, all users of the forums voluntarily submit themselves to these guidelines and etiquette:
- When posting a message, let us know who you are. Include your name, affiliation and e-mail address.
- When replying to a message, include only the relevant information to which you are responding.
- Challenging or attacking others is bad etiquette. The discussions put forward in the forums are meant to stimulate conversation, but are not meant to create a contentious environment. Let others have their say, just as you may.
- Do not post commercial messages. It is considered very bad etiquette. Contact people directly with products and services which you believe would help them. Feel free to discuss products, with the understanding that the forum is a public domain and your comments are subject to libel and slander laws.
- All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not say anything in a forum message that you would not want the world to see and would not want to know came from you. Gain permission to reprint copyrighted material before posting it. If you send information that is not your original work or ideas, please specify to readers the original source of your information. Do not post anything that is not original unless it meets the "fair use" guidelines of copyright law, or unless you have permission from the original source.
- When posting materials, the poster voluntarily presents him/herself as the copyright owner or has received permission to reprint copyrighted materials.
- Note that all forum messages are in the public domain.
