The State Bar of Montana Brings Back Citizens’ Law School: Empowering the Community with Legal Knowledge

The State Bar of Montana is pleased to once again offer its free Citizens’ Law School series this fall, an initiative aimed at empowering members of the community with helpful legal knowledge and resources. This innovative program is designed to bridge the gap between the legal profession and the public, fostering a better understanding of the law and promoting civic engagement.

These webinars are free of charge and designed for the public. This year’s upcoming sessions feature a variety of legal topics and presenters, including:

  • Oct. 18: A Day in the Life of a Montana Lawyer and Judge – Hon. Luke Berger, Fifth Judicial District judge; David Steele, State Bar of Montana Past-President
  • Oct. 25: Small Business and Employment Law - Amy Christensen, Christensen & Prezeau
  • Nov. 1: Know Your Rights: Montana Constitution's Bill of Rights – Hon. Anthony Johnstone, United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
  • Nov. 8: Water, Property and Public Land - Hertha Lund, Lund Law
  • Nov. 15: Criminal Law - Ed Hirsch, Nate Holloway & Brian Smith 
  • Nov. 29: 2023 Legislative Changes That Impact Montanans - Lt. Gov. Kristen Juras, Todd Everts, Julie Johnson, Jaret Coles 
  • Dec. 6: Family Law - Sara Berg, Browning Kaleczyc Berry & Hoven
