Dec 1, 2025: State Bar of Montana Releases 2024–2025 Annual Report, Highlighting Service, Strength, and Access to Justice
We live in interesting times. Across the nation, public trust in institutions—including the judiciary—is declining. In Montana, however, we stand on solid ground. Our courts remain strong, our Constitution resilient, and our legal community steadfast in its mission.
Since 1974, when the unified bar was established, the State Bar of Montana has been guided by clear, values-based principles: to serve our members and to protect the public. The Bar is not simply an institution; it is the collective work of thousands of attorneys who dedicate their time, skill, and energy to advancing justice. Our committees, sections, and pro bono programs exist because of volunteers who believe deeply in this mission.
This past year, we drew strength from that tradition of service. Montana attorneys expanded access to justice through pro bono work, rural outreach, and programs that bring legal resources to underserved communities. During a complex legislative session, the State Bar provided balanced, thoughtful input to support both the profession and the public—upholding the quality of legal services and the administration of justice statewide. None of this would be possible without the attorneys who give so freely of their time and expertise.
The 2024–2025 Annual Report reflects this work and the enduring strength of our profession.
