Additional Comment Period Open for Proposed Rule of Evidence 901(c)

The Montana Supreme Court is accepting additional public comment on proposed revisions to Montana Rule of Evidence 901(c), which addresses potentially fabricated evidence created or materially altered by generative artificial intelligence.

Comments and suggestions must be filed with the Clerk of the Montana Supreme Court by August 18, 2026. Full case information is available on the Montana Judicial Branch website.
